Benjamin Chee Chee
Benjamin Chee Chee (1944-1977 )was born in Temagami, Ontario. Largely self-taught, he was a prominent member of the second generation of Woodland painters, a Native Art movement that began in the early nineteen-sixties, and is now an important art school in Canada. His style is considered graphic, showing a reduction of line and image. Unfortunately, Chee Chee committed suicide at the height of his success as an artist and printmaker, at the age of 32.
