This was bought from Friemanis who operated as a furniture maker / restoration tech at the corner of Prescott and Duckworth in the early 1970's.  How someone ended up painting Van Ruith's Rescue is unknown . It was illustrated in 1910 in "Boys Own Annual". It is striking image depicting heroic efforts of sailors rescuing survivors from a shipwreck.
