After much research and confirmations, we now know that this is the actual steam-powered bicycle featured at the Guggenheim Museum's from Sept 2000 to April 2001 in a show called Art of the Motorcycle - one of the top five attended exhibits ever held in any museum in the world.
Owned and restored by motorcycle legend Peter Gagan - recently inducted into the Canadian Motorcycle Hall of Fame - purchased by 'Evolution of the Motorcycle' then by Foggy Mountain in 2011.

Comes with its own custom packing/travel case. (Pictures to follow) The exhibition was subsequently displayed at the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao in Bilbao, Spain from November 24, 1999 to September 3, 2000.[3] It was also the inaugural exhibition at the Guggenheim Las Vegas, located in The Venetian Resort in Las Vegas, which opened on October 7, 2001.[4]

All items are presented and sold ‘as is where is’ with no warranties expressed or implied. Items may be removed or added, without notice, at the sole discretions of the auctioneer.
Some items in most every sale will have a Reserve or Minimun Bid amount required to sell. This is different than Suggested Opening Bid - We consider the high bid 'Subject to Owner Approval' and a call may be made to the estate or owner for their consideration. They may choose to accept, decline or counter offer. The auctioneer will facilitate this with full transparency.
In the event of a dispute, the auctioneer holds sole discretion in its resolution. This includes, but is not limited to, the removal, re-offering or adjusting the terms of the item in dispute. The auctioneer’s decision is final.
Good Faith Deposit - For this auction, with a large range of motorcycle values, we require a $2500 Good Faith Deposit to bid. We will pre-authorize the card you have on file to expediate this or it can come in the form of a Certified Cheque, Cash, Wire Transfer or e-transfer instead of Credit Card. Please contact claire@bartlettauctions.com to arrange. This is 100% refundable if you are unsuccessful in your bid. We will hold the deposit until full payment is received within two business days of the auction. For successful bidders with a total purchase over $25000 CDN, we will require 10% of your total purchase price within 24 hours of the auction. Please call to discuss if you have any questions.
Buyer’s Fee – a 12% Buyer’s Fee will be applied to the purchaser’s total before HST. Harmonized Sales Tax applies to all items offered and all services rendered. Buyer's outside of Canada can apply to Canada Revenue Agency to receive 100% of this tax refunded.
Full Payment - You can pay by VISA, MasterCard, American Express (an additional 3% admin fee will apply). Otherwise, we ask that you arrange for a certified cheque, etransfer or wire transfer within two business days of the sale. The auctioneer will retain possession of all items until full payment has been received and cleared.
