Auction Terms and Conditions

Welcome to Bartlett Auctions. Thank you for your support and interest.

By bidding you agree with the Terms and Conditions of this auction sale. Bidders can register online at www.bartlettauctions.com only. Because of COVID-19, there is no opportunity for viewing or onsite registration. Please note that if you decide to bid, it takes a few moments to fill out the registration form and you cannot bid without registering.

YOU MUST HAVE A CREDIT CARD ON FILE TO BID. TO DO SO, LOG IN AND GO TO YOUR ACCOUNT. WE STRONGLY SUGGEST YOU DO SO BEFORE BIDDING BEGINS.

FYI: WE DO NOT SEE, OR HAVE ACCESS TO, YOUR CREDIT CARD INFORMATION. IT  IS SECURED BY THE LARGEST ONLINE MERCHANT PROVIDER, STRIPE.COM AND THEIR SECURITY PROTOCOLS ARE INDUSTRY LEADING.

All items are presented and sold ‘as is where is’ with no warranties expressed or implied. Items may be removed or added, without notice, at the sole discretions of the auctioneer.

Some items in most every sale will have a Reserve or Minimum Bid amount required to sell. This is different than Opening Bid - We consider these Subject to Owner Approval and a call will be made to the estate or owner with the high bid. They may choose to accept, decline or counter offer. The auctioneer will facilitate this with full transparency.

Like many online auctions, we are using a 'Soft Close' system where if someone bids in the last minute, another minute is added to the close time.

In the event of a dispute, the auctioneer holds sole discretion in its resolution. This includes, but is not limited to, the removal, re-offering or adjusting the terms of the item in dispute. The auctioneer’s decision is final.

Buyer’s Fee – a 10% Buyer’s Fee will be applied to the purchaser’s total before HST. Harmonized Sales Tax applies to all items offered and all services rendered.

The auctioneer will retain possession of all items until full payment has been received and cleared.

Out of respect for the priorities of the day and COVID-19 protocols which are changing regularly, items are currently available for curbside pickup or delivery unless noted in the item description.

All Items must be paid for immediately following the auction; buyers must ensure the address on their profile is the delivery address they want.

The auction team appreciates your interest and fair participation in this and all future auction sales.

Delivery in the St. John's metropolitan area is only $5 for small purchases. If noted in the item description that delivery is not available, please contact us to arrange pickup. We ask that you are ready to receive and/or pickup within three business days of the auction closing.

An incredible collection of more than 1000 books from a single estate. We decided to let every book stand on its own instead of boxing things together. We suggest you go through each item, add them to your Watch List (the EYE icon) and create your own library, and then you can easily return to your short list at any time. Auction will begin to close starting 8pm on September 20   - we will stagger closing times to help you manage your final bids but encourage you to use the 'Max Bid' feature as well. This auction has many books that discuss philosophy, religion and political ideology. The opinions expressed are soley those of the author.
