Aiden Lassell Ripley (1896 -1961)
As a sportsman, conservationist, and painter, Ripley was known as 'Old Rip' in the woodlands of his native Massachusetts. Working in both oil and water colour, on site, his work had a clarity not always seen in art referencing photographs. His work is held for scientific research, as well as its beauty, in many galleries in the US.
