St. James United Fundraising Auction 2023
Welcome to St. James United Church’s FIRST on-line silent auction!
Before the pandemic, we held silent auctions internally as part of larger fundraisers. This year, our Stewardship Committee decided to try doing things differently and open it our auction to the greater community and to welcome them to participate in the fun!
St. James United Church is an inclusive faith community and an accredited member of Affirm United. We believe everyone belongs. The people of St. James are eternal seekers who value diversity within our congregation, our city, and all society. We affirm each persons uniqueness and believe that all persons deserve to be valued, treated with equity, and respected.
St. James is a registered non-profit organization with eight mostly part-time or casual staff, including one part-time Designated Lay Minister and one full-time Minister and a wonderful, welcoming community of generous congregants and volunteers. We working to create a positive, open, inclusive environment which celebrates the diversity of our community. We welcome people of all beliefs, racial backgrounds, abilities, ethnicities, genders or sexual orientations to participate in our spiritual, social, educational and community activities.
Our congregation makes a valuable contribution to our community through many programs including:
· visits to seniors at home and in long-term care residences
· small groups like sewing, book club, ukulele, etc.
· programs with children, youth and young adults;
· opportunities to work for positive, inclusive social and environmental change

Like most churches and other non-profit community organizations, our resources are limited and stretched. We have to continually raise funds for the above and many other activities. This online auction is one of our main fundraisers for this year. We have 50 interesting auction lots of quality items, and gift cards for foods, activities and experiences. Bidding will run from June 10 to 19, 2023, closing at 7 pm. All proceeds will assist St. James to continue its life and work programming to serve the needs of their congregants and those of the greater community.
