St. John’s Rotary Auction 2024
2001 Wines of Bordeaux Dinner

The Rotary Club of St. John’s is pleased to offer a second opportunity at this year's auction for its patrons and supporters to experience an exceptional wine tasting and dinner for 10 at the critically acclaimed Boca restaurant to be arranged at the mutual convenience of the hosts and successful bidder.

The evening will offer a rare opportunity for the successful bidder to savour the great wines of the great 2001 Bordeaux vintage paired with exceptional dishes prepared by Boca’s superb chef, Gregory Berzinski.
The dinner will commence with a champagne reception followed by a fantastic selection of wines from the 2001 Bordeaux vintage including many of the renowned first growths and the incomparable 2001 d’Yquem.

2001 is a more “old fashioned” vintage and widely considered to
be the best Bordeaux vintage since 1990 secondly only to the opulent 2000. They are classic clarets with a rich rounded character, fresh fruit, elegance and subtle tannins. These wines are among the greatest of the vintage!

Time and again, we have answered the call for help whenever and wherever the need is identified. The list of projects the Rotary Club of St. John’s has supported and sponsored is extensive, particularly in the areas of food security, mental health and addictions, housing and homelessness, education, and the environment.

With the help of sponsors and supporters such as you, The Rotary Club of St. John’s helped provide food hampers to senior citizens, aided in the purchase of mattresses for those who needed a place to rest, helped Holy Heart of Mary provide nutritious food to students so they are able to learn and thrive, offered scholarships to post-secondary students, supported programming to keep young mothers at risk and their children together, provided food gift cards to families and individuals with the annual Christmas Hamper Project, and fulfilled our commitment to help veteran’s experiencing homelessness with a $120,000 donation to Stella’s Circle for a new housing project at Caribou Manor – all in the last 12 months.

Rotarians believe that we have a shared responsibility to take action on the most persistent issues impacting our community. Thank you for visiting the Rotary Club of St. John’s annual on-line auction. We’re so glad you have joined in to make a difference again this year.
