By bidding you agree with the Terms and Conditions of this auction sale.

Bidders can register online at www.bartlettauctions.com only. Because of COVID-19, we will have scheduled viewing times following the current government of NL guidelines to ensure the safety of our customers is first and foremost.

You are free to watch online but please note that if you decide to bid, it takes a few moments to fill out the registration form and you cannot bid without registering. YOU MUST HAVE A CREDIT CARD ON FILE TO BID. FOR THIS AUCTION, WE REQUIRE A $500 PRE-AUTHORIZATION TO RECEIVE A BID NUMBER, IMMEDIATELY RELEASED IF YOU ARE UNSUCCESSFUL. WE WILL HOLD THIS DEPOSIT UNTIL INVOICE IS PAID, FORFEITED IF YOU CHOOSE TO NOT PAY. TO ADD A CREDIT CARD, LOG IN AND GO TO YOUR ACCOUNT. WE STRONGLY SUGGEST YOU DO SO BEFORE BIDDING BEGINS. FYI: WE DO NOT SEE, OR HAVE ACCESS TO, YOUR CREDIT CARD INFORMATION. IT IS SECURED BY THE LARGEST ONLINE MERCHANT PROVIDER, STRIPE.COM AND THEIR SECURITY PROTOCOLS ARE INDUSTRY LEADING.

All items are presented and sold ‘as is where is’ with no warranties expressed or implied. Items may be removed or added, without notice, at the sole discretions of the auctioneer. Some items in most every sale will have a Reserve or Minimun Bid amount required to sell. This is different than Opening Bid - We consider these Subject to Owner Approval and a call will be made to the estate or owner with the high bid. They may choose to accept, decline or counter offer. The auctioneer will facilitate this with full transparency.

In the event of a dispute, the auctioneer holds sole discretion in its resolution. This includes, but is not limited to, the removal, re-offering or adjusting the terms of the item in dispute. The auctioneer’s decision is final.

This auction is online only with an extended in-person viewing that we encourage all bidders to attend. As is a common online practice, this auction  features a staggered, soft close of one piece every minute, enhanced by extending the bidding time by two minutes if a bid is received in the final two minutes.

Buyer’s Fee – a 10% Buyer’s Fee will be applied to the purchaser’s total before HST. Harmonized Sales Tax applies to all items offered and all services rendered.

Pay by cash, etransfer, Wire, Certified Cheque, Visa, MasterCard, American Express. (If you choose the credit card payment option there is a 3% premium added to the purchase to cover credit card fees.) The auctioneer will retain possession of all items until full payment has been received and cleared.

Out of respect for the priorities of the day and COVID-19 protocols, items are for DELIVERY or scheduled PICKUP only.  Immediately following the auction you will receive a notification with full details on these schedules.

All Items must be paid for within 24 hours following the auction; buyers must ensure the address on their profile is the delivery address they want.

Immediately following the auction, all successful bidders will receive a notification and invoicing. For paid invoices, we are offering complimentary delivery within the St. John's metropolitan area on Thursday September 24th and Friday September 25th. Shipping to other destinations, or pick up at other times, should be discussed with the auction representatives, to avoid surprises.

We are proud to offer this incredible collection of fine art, featuring some of the most spectacular artistic achievements of Gerald Squires, RCA (1937-2015), an important work by Mary Pratt RCA (1935-2018) and some of the most defining moments of Canadian master, Michael French. We are happy to announce significant in-person viewing opportunities at the Capital Hotel - 3PM-8PM daily from Sunday, September 20th to Tuesday September 22 and then 10AM-7PM September 23rd. Auction closing begins 8PM, Newfoundland Time (6:30 Eastern Time) September 23rd.
