Robert writes, "I have been experimenting with watercolours since the mid-1980's. At McGill's School of Architecture, together with my colleagues Professor Ricardo Castro and Professor David Covo, I teach "Sketching School," a required drawing course for our students that was once taught by a prominent RCA Academician and member of the Canadian "Group of Seven," Arthur Lismer. In this course we use mostly watercolour, often with students who have never used this medium before, typically painting in a location within a day's journey from Montreal. For my architectural design studio teaching at McGill, I encourage my students to maintain a Moleskine sketchbook using watercolours to document the conceptual development of their projects."
